37 hours per week, fixed term contract for 6 months
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
Community Support Officer to join our Homes Plus Community Safety team on a full-time, fixed term basis for 6 months. We’re looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.
The role
As a Community Support Officer, you will provide housing related support to customers deemed as high risk of personal harm or tenancy failure in order to help them maintain tenancies and remain safe in their home.
You will be able to work under pressure and have experience in working with internal and external partners to resolve complex issues. You will be able to provide advice, guidance and practical support to tenants tailored to their needs whilst demonstrating compassion and patience, listening skills and a determination to deal with challenging customer situations.
What skills and experience we are looking for:
Hold a relevant professional qualification, e.g. CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice or Supporting vulnerable customers (desirable)
Have an understanding of safeguarding customers and those with vulnerabilities
Experience of working with specialist support groups, including mental health, domestic
violence and victims of anti-social behaviour and crime
Ability to work under pressure, effectively and on own initiative
Ability to provide a good problem solving approach whilst striving for value for money
Ability to handle sensitive enquiries and difficult conversations with diplomacy.
Ability to provide support to vulnerable customers, victims of crime, and anti-social behaviour
Ability to promote this service with external partners and our communities
UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for business use
