We currently have a great opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home, Church Stretton, Shropshire on a permanent basis working 30 hours per week.

The Sandford Nursing Home is a place our residents call home. It's a happy, welcoming atmosphere set amongst the Shropshire hills with luxurious accommodation and expert, nursing-led care and we're looking for caring and supportive individuals to join us.

The Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will work within and lead the Nursing Home Team assisting elderly residents with normal activities of daily living, promoting independence and maintaining an individual’s dignity and respect.

You will oversee/maintain the care of residents in the absence of the Registered Manager, to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Home and ensure that all company policies and procedures, and all legal requirements are met within defined time scales.

You will delegate responsibility to Junior Registered Nurses and the care team ensuring a high standard of nursing care on a continual basis whilst ensuring CQC regulations are met.

Skills and experience required:

  • NMC Professional Registration and active PIN
  • The ability to work with in a team and independantly.
  • Previous experience in providing a quality care service for people
  • A commitment to delivering quality care to vulnerable adults
  • Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills
  • Caring attitude with desire to help and support others
  • Care home experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Due to the nature of this post, the role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
